Hire equipment: Robur Hire

Following the sale of the Robur brand to A2 Attachments in September 2023, the Robur name has found its way back to the original owner Clem Simpkin

After going through a number of different possibilities for a new name for Robur Hire, Clem says he wondered what A2’s intentions were for the Robur name.

"I thought, it couldn’t hurt to have a discussion with A2, and as it turns out, following some changes in the market and costs of running two brands, we coordinated together to get the best outcome for customers.

"So, we purchased the Robur name back, which saved a lot on the rebrand cost and means we can keep the well-known Robur brand alive and refer attachment and bucket buyers back to A2. It’s funny how things work out sometimes."

New Auckland yard

Going with the new (or should that be old) Robur Hire business is the new yard they have secured at 34 Gabador Place, Mount Wellington.

"Our new Auckland premises has a bigger yard and better facilities for hire equipment than before and it’s just around the corner from where we were," says Clem.

"There’s a lot of room to store gear, it’s a great central location with plenty of access for trucks to come and go and it’s easy for loading and unloading."

Increasing the fleet

New shipments of quality attachments are scheduled to arrive in early 2024

A number of new shipments of quality attachments have already arrived and more are scheduled to arrive during the early 2024.

"We’re looking at increasing the fleet by some quite good numbers, which will extend the options available for civil contractors," says Clem.

One such attachment is the Finnish-made ALLU bucket. These highly versatile buckets are a must-have for any contractor who is serious about sustainability.

"From screening, crushing, sorting and processing they are extremely robust," says Clem.
"ALLU buckets can be used in literally hundreds of different applications. Easily fitted to your excavator, the attachment can be fitted with different rotors to suit the application."

Compact in size and easy to operate the specialised screening buckets give added flexibility to jobs and can help reduce disposal costs.

"We have a number of different ALLU screening buckets in stock available for sale, hire, or you can try a hire to buy option," says Clem.
