Following the official launch of the EvoQuip Caiman 150 Shredder in mid-August, it has been confirmed that Andy Meikle, director at Mobile Screening and Crushing NZ Ltd (MSC) confirmed that a Caiman 150 will be headed down under in the new year. The Caiman 150 Shredder provides high output with low operational costs and can be used in multiple applications such as C&D, concrete, asphalt, kerb stones, bricks, green waste, wood waste, tyres, and general household waste.

"We’ve seen so many opportunities in the past few years where a compact shredder would be the perfect solution for a job, so we’re very excited to now be able to offer this option to our customers with the EvoQuip Caiman 150," Andy says.

"Terex® is an industry leader in materials processing equipment and MSC is the proud distributor of both Terex EvoQuip and Ecotec, allowing us to offer an extensive portfolio of screening, crushing, and recycling solutions.

"As a Terex-designed and built machine, the Caiman 150 comes with the engineering and manufacturing excellence needed to excel in the most demanding of recycling applications."

Twin slow-speed high torque shafts

One of the primary features of the Caiman 150 shredder is the slow-speed shafts, which produce up to 80,000Nm of torque per shaft, allowing the shredder to work with the most demanding of materials. This, along with the ability to quickly change shafts, allows the end user to swiftly change from working in one application to another.

Compact and robust

The Caiman 150 has a compact and robust design, which allows it to be used in the smallest of spaces while maintaining an aggressive and powerful shredding system.

With an intuitive control system, the Caiman 150 is user-friendly, and its compact transport envelope allows it to be moved easily between sites. The hydrostatic drive offers high efficiency and protection against contamination, and the 1.5-metre-long shafts offers impressive throughput and excellent reduction.

Real-time reports

The Caiman 150 comes with the T-Link telemetry system fitted as standard, providing customers with real-time information on the performance of their machine. The data can be accessed through a tablet or smartphone and provides comprehensive information on the location, fuel consumption, operating, and more.

Other features include:

  • Versatile design that enables work in multiple applications with only a shaft change needed to go from C&D to other waste types
  • Default and customisable shredding programs enable the operator to program the most optimal set-up for their specific application
  • Quick removal of shafts/combs; shafts can be changed in an hour
  • Asynchronous shredding action, allowing each shaft to operate independently to maximise production
  • More wear plates in hopper than some other brands to ensure less hardfacing
  • 2.5 cubic metre hopper capacity, 800mm wide product conveyor with a 3.3-metre discharge height. 16.5 tonnes with transport dimensions of 8.4 x 2.5 x 3.05 metres
