With more than 150 XCMG units operating in New Zealand, Landex Equipment has more than secured a steady client base for their range of machines, which has seen the recent introduction of the purpose-built XC9 ‘New Zealand’ wheel loader series.

"XCMG were recently recognised as the third largest construction machinery manufacturer in the world, so for us to secure our own specific models shows how seriously they take a small market like New Zealand," says Landex director Ross Linton.

The range available in New Zealand starts at the six-tonne LW180KNZ model, which is powered by an 80hp Cummins QSB3.9 engine. It’s fitted with a one-cubic-metre bucket with single joystick and optional extras include a Volvo-designed quick hitch and pallet forks.

Next up the size list is the XC938NZ that weighs in at 11 tonnes and is fitted with a 130hp QSB6.7 Cummins engine, German-made Lincoln auto-greasing, ride control, wet axles, hydraulic reversing fan, and quick hitch. The 2.1-cubic-metre bucket will make quick work of loading out on busy worksites.

Things start getting a bit more serious with the 14.5-tonne XC948NZ wheel loader. Here the Cummins QSB6.7 engine has been configured to output 170hp to work the 2.4-cubic-metre bucket. It comes fitted with Lincoln auto-greasing and other features that are also found on its slightly smaller sibling.

Filling in the top spot for largest wheel loader currently in the Landex portfolio is the XC958NZ model. Tipping the scales at 19.2 tonnes, a 3.1-cubic-metre bucket is efficiently powered by a 220hp Cummins QSB6.7 series engine and comes fitted with third valve piping along with the same features of the smaller models.

All the XC series wheel loaders come fitted with ISO certified ROP and FOPS cabins, which include beacons and fire extinguishers as standard equipment. The XC series are constructed with an all-new heavy-duty chassis and the larger sizes feature ZF transmissions with full automatic function.

"The US-designed XC series have been custom-made for New Zealand conditions and we’ve had really positive response from operators," says Ross. "The team is excited to be delivering affordable machines with standard features that come as optional extras on some other brands."
