Product feature: Premiertrak PT400X jaw crusher

A new Powerscreen Premiertrak PT400X jaw crusher is currently processing concrete for Ward Demolition Limited, a family-run enterprise based in Auckland

The jaw crusher is one of a number in the Ward fleet that the Lincom Group have supplied. These include a Powerscreen XA400S, working full-time at the Ward Demolition recycling yard in Onehunga, as well as a Powerscreen XR400.

Lincom says their Premiertrak PT400X has proved ideal as a recycling machine

"The XR400 is currently working in Industry Road, Penrose and will soon be moving to the Whenuapai Airbase," company director Peter Ward says.

Peter founded Ward Demolition in 1987 and as one of the largest demolition businesses in the country, operates a huge fleet of machinery. Over the years of association, Peter says the two businesses have developed a valued relationship with similar core values.

"Collaboration, teamwork, and honesty are the foundation of the business. I like how I can speak directly to the owner if needed; they operate much like us.’’

Ward Demolition actively works on reducing environmental impact, and this was where the Lincom Group was able to offer industry-leading equipment set-up solutions to aid their processes.

One of Ward’s current application sites is located at Wiri Station Road, one of Auckland’s biggest and well-known industrial areas. The work site is zoned for heavy industrial use and offers abundant space for large-scale activities, such as storage and warehousing.

To ready the site for building requires removal of basalt/volcanic rock and concrete mix, some of which was excavated from the construction of the Waterview Tunnel.

"The yard is an ex-concrete batching plant, so as you can imagine, we’ve got a lot of concrete rubble to process, as well as a rock hill to work through," Peter says.

Lincom says their Premiertrak PT400X jaw crusher has proved ideal as a recycling machine, with metals such as rebar being removed with an overband magnet belt; the product being recycled as a usable 65mm aggregate.

Ward Demolition has tested the crusher in many recycling applications and have been satisfied with the machine’s solid performance, versatility, and mobility to move around from site to site, with the Powerscreen PT400X suiting the high recycling rate target requirements.

The Lincom Group says their extensive range of Powercreen-branded crushers offer unrivalled performance and production capabilities.

"We like the low noise levels of the Premiertrak PT400X, especially when working in urban environments," Peter says.

Lincom says the Premiertrak PT400X is an extremely versatile crusher that can be used in various applications. User benefits include hydraulic crusher setting adjustment for complete control of product size, tracked mobility for optimal flexibility of set-up and crusher overload protection to prevent damage by foreign objects.

With its hydraulic setting adjustment, the Premiertrak PT400X allows the size of the product to be changed at the press of a button, minimising the need for downtime.

The Premiertrak R400 is from the same series and can be the perfect choice for recycling on primary applications. The hydraulic release jaw fitted to this crusher will sense an overload and open when required to protect against serious damage.

An optional pre-screen is also available on the Powerscreen Premiertrak range to allow the operator to remove the finer material prior to the jaw chamber.

Benefits of the Premiertrak range for recycling include:

  • Hydraulic crusher setting adjustment
  • High output and excellent reduction capability
  • Angle adjustable product conveyor
  • Fitted with Powerscreen Pulse
  • Telematics system
