World-class Mimico equipment on show

MIMICO, the NZ distributor of a range of quarry equipment brands, had a big presence at July’s annual QuarryNZ Conference in Hamilton.

The company displayed a range of equipment, which included a Metso Lokotrack LT120 mobile jaw crusher, a Metso MX4 cone crusher, a Superior Aggredry® Dewatering Washer, a Kobelco SK500LC-9 excavator, and a Kawasaki 95Z7 wheel loader.

New Zealand’s largest Metso mobile crusher purchased by Fulton Hogan

The Metso Lokotrack LT120, a 63-tonne mobile jaw crusher, was decked out in Fulton Hogan logos, as it was scheduled to head to the company’s Tauhei quarry—just up the road in the Waikato—straight after the event.

MIMICO used QuarryNZ to officially hand over the LT120 to Fulton Hogan. It is planned to be used in tandem with a Metso LT300HP (cone crusher) and a Metso ST4.8 (triple deck mobile screen) to produce aggregates for the Waikato Expressway.

Revolutionary new cone crusher technology available in New Zealand

Metso’s new MX cone crusher is the first ‘Multi-Action’ cone crusher on the market and the manufacturers say that with its technology, it is said to be the most cost-efficient crusher on the market, enabling operational cost savings of 10% or more compared with traditional cone crushers.

Garth Taylor explains, "The MX is able to simultaneously adjust its setting with a rotating bowl above its cavity and a hydraulic piston inside the machine’s fixed shaft. Dynamic setting adjustments can be made when the crusher is operating under full load conditions without the need to stop production.

"Both rotating bowl and piston adjustments are fully automated, so no human intervention is required.

"The MX also provides a maximised tramp release distance, delivering high levels of protection against uncrushable objects and overloading. Protection is optimised under all conditions, even with completely new wear parts."

The MX’s Multi-Action design also provides rapid, fully automated protection via its rotating bowl. The combination of a rotating bowl and piston adjustment enables optimised wear part utilisation. One of the big advantages of the MX is its quick and easy wear component change-outs. All the wear parts are accessible from the top of the machine, allowing a complete change-out in just two to three hours.
