Thwaites' range of off-road dumpers can not only be used for general groundwork on building sites but also on utility work

With off-road dumper usage growing rapidly, it’s important to have a range of models to choose from. Thwaites dumpers are not only used for general groundwork on building sites but they are also used on utility work for fast and precise trench filling, road building, and landscaping.

Originally designed for the changeable English weather, Thwaites dumpers are built to thrive in wet and muddy conditions.

The Thwaites range of off-site dumpers consists exclusively of four-wheel-drive models with a capacity from one to 10 tonnes. A total of 32 models are available with fully-hydrostatic, mechanical, hydrostatic-mechanical, torque-converter Powershuttle and Powershift transmissions, with front tip, power swivel, hi-tip and hi-swivel tipping options.

Fitted with the latest Perkins turbo and Yanmar engines, their New Zealand distributor ATJ International says the dumpers can reach speeds of up to 30km/h. Perkins engines have been fitted to Thwaites dumpers for more than 20 years, with the diesel-fuelled engines helping provide top-of-the-range reliability, torque, and power.

Thwaites’ smallest machine, the one-tonne hi-tip, with a load capacity of one tonne, is only one-metre wide and is ideal for sites with limited access. With Rexroth hydrostatic transmission and four-drive capability, the machine offers near all-terrain ability.

The bin on the one-tonne machine can be tipped at a height of up to 1.8 metres, allowing the load to be emptied into a rubbish skip or tip truck for removal off-site.

From a machine that is capable of carrying 10 tonnes of earth to an off-site dumper that can lift a load, swivel it through 180 degrees and dump it at a height, ATJ says customers can be confident of finding the best tool for their job in the comprehensive Thwaites range.
