Another load of balers arrives in for dismantling

Southland hay machinery dismantler Taits Rural has continued to grow its offering to New Zealand Contractors

Last season saw the introduction of rotor rakes and tedders in their line-up as well as continuing to increase their offering of round balers and hay mowers.

"Due to our contacts with a lot of farmers, dealers, and contractors, we’re now selling a large range of used machinery, which we either buy in to resell or some of the larger value items we sell on behalf of the owners," says company owner Glen Malcolm.

"Our website and market contacts give us a unique reach to the market. The website continues to grow. We’re adding more items daily, with several thousand site visits per month. It has proven very popular."

Glen says they encourage their clients to call them, as they still value the personal input, however, the website allows buyers who are seeking parts to look up the part they want and purchase it there and then.

"Being based in Southland is also an advantage to us due to the largest concentration of hay mowers anywhere in New Zealand. While we buy mowers from all over the country, the vast majority are still coming out of the lower South Island," Glen says.
