Asco Asphalt are now offering a proven range of cost-effective surface treatments

Asco have turned their attention to producing catching decorative pavements that turn once bland surfaces into durable and distinctive pedestrian and traffic safety applications using internationally recognised products StreetBond, StreetPrint, and DuraTherm.

Asphalt protection offering long-term life is a new innovation for New Zealand. Through an Asco subsidiary, Asphalt Preservation Company (APC), they are now offering a proven range of cost-effective surface treatments that provide asphalt preservation and rejuvenation.

Whether the site is commercial or infrastructure, asphalt surfaces can be treated to extend life before the ageing effects of oxidation set in. With APC’s independent technical team, assessments for site suitability are easily made.

"We look to be innovators in this market but, it’s also important for us to do this with others as a team, so the right partners are very important to us. That’s where the relationship with our commercial partners, particularly when it comes to purchasing the right equipment, is so important," says Asco fleet manager, Rahim Khan.

"In the case of AB Equipment and their finance fleet company, Yoogo Funding, we believe we have settled on a combination that is not only trustworthy and supportive but also adds value to our company. This has been achieved by AB Equipment having a practical understanding of our requirements and then providing the best in professional advice and attention to detail."

New Sakai rollers from AB Equipment

In recent months, Asco Asphalt has been upgrading its fleet and has acquired two new Sakai rollers from AB Equipment.

"We already have some older models in our fleet and the operators just love them. They believe that because of their versatility, Sakai is far and away ahead of all other brands in the market," Rahim says.

The company also runs a fleet of Bobcat skid steer loaders and the recent upgrade to a Bobcat T770, fitted with a sharp grade leveller, and the Bobcat A770, with a new 84-inch sweeper, will provide more efficiencies, particularly when working in tight spaces.

"We were also looking for an improvement to our asphalt manufacturing plant loader. AB Equipment suggested we check out the Doosan DL200 as a cost-effective solution. It was a good idea, especially the flexibility of the AB Equipment servicing team, who offer to fit around our operation, which often works seven days a week to fit around our own customer requirements."

The purchase of the new equipment was made easy through the efforts of AB Equipment’s finance company, Yoogo. General manager Sam Pomare was responsible for putting the lease package together.

"Asco are a great company to work with and were completely open to any new ideas and suggestions," Sam says.

"With a Yoogo Funding finance package, there are no strict rules because it’s designed specifically to meet your needs," Sam says.

"For example, with an Operating Lease (equipment rental), you receive the benefits of using new equipment for an agreed period of time, with no capital outlay, and servicing and maintenance included within the fixed monthly payment.

"The benefit with an Operating Lease is that companies have a fixed price with no hidden costs, which means they can tender for jobs or price work confidently knowing there won’t be unexpected expenses related to the leased asset."
