Hosted by NZ Trucking Association and National Road Carriers, the Teletrac Navman Technology, Maintenance, Safety (TMS) Conference and Exhibition on 13 and 14 March 2024 is set to redefine conference experiences.

A combined effort by two leading industry organisations to minimise multiple small events, it will see the industry gathered into one area for two days to learn, be inspired, and connect.

The conference will take place at the Te Pae Convention Centre

It’s an opportunity for decision-makers to invest in their team and embark on a journey of learning, all within the impressive Te Pae Convention Centre, where heavy vehicle displays and machinery exhibitions make it an ideal place to conduct business alongside the conference.

Innovations and insights

The TMS Conference will feature a diverse range of presentations, including panel discussions on diesel-electric and hydrogen technologies.

Attendees can look forward to gaining insights from industry operators who’ve successfully embraced alternative fuels and integrated them into their businesses.

Are teams ready to embrace these new technologies? What skills will the workforce need to thrive in the evolving landscape?

Safety and workforce development

Safety is paramount in the transport industry. It was recently published by WorkSafe that the transport industry is a more dangerous industry to work in than construction.

John Sansom will update attendees on the new HARMfree Transport & Logistics workplace safety programme. Good work design is key to a safe workplace.

Come along and hear stories of companies that are doing great work in this space. New Zealand TruckSafe Accreditation SMS will be explained along with an opportunity to meet with Australian operators who are TruckSafe accredited companies.

Attendees will also get a firsthand look at the new TruckSafe Safety Management System.
In addition to alternative fuels, the conference will explore various methods for reducing emissions, including the use of powered axles.

Who should attend?

The event is designed to bring together a diverse audience, including business owners, senior managers, mechanics, technicians, fleet managers, health and safety managers, manufacturers, truck distributors, and industry suppliers from across the country.

To cultivate the growth of the industry, the organisers encourage companies to bring along their younger workforce, giving them a chance to experience an event that supports their development in the field.

Prestigious awards

Teletrac Navman TMS will also debut three industry awards: the Technology Award will honour a company or entrepreneur whose technological solution or product contributes to the industry’s future; the Maintenance Award will recognise an outstanding technician dedicated to continuous improvement; and the Safety Award will celebrate a company or individual promoting safety and well-being in the industry.

Applications for these awards are open now, with the awards ceremony scheduled for 13 March 2024, during the conference networking event at the Majestic on Durham Street, Christchurch.

The modern conference format has garnered the support of various associations, including Ground Spreaders, Heavy Haulage, Crane Association, and CILT, all of which have invited their members to attend.

Teletrac Navman, the naming rights sponsor, is dedicated to innovation and empowerment in the transport sector. Megan Duncan, director of global marketing operations, underlines their commitment to fostering collective growth in the New Zealand transport industry.

The Teletrac Navman TMS Conference and Exhibition is not just an event; it’s a transformative experience. Mark your calendars and make plans to join the NZ Trucking Association and National Road Carriers in Christchurch for two days of knowledge, innovation, and networking that will shape the future of the transport industry.
