"During Mike’s 15-year tenure as chief executive officer, he has brought strong leadership to TransDiesel and established comprehensive foundations for the ongoing growth and success of the business," says TransDiesel chair Craig Boyce.

"Mike transitioned TransDiesel to become the sole supplier of Volvo and Yanmar heavy machinery brands in New Zealand and, more recently, managed the transition to New Zealand distributor of Shell Lubricants.

"The growth in business volume, staff, and customers has been significant during this period, including the successful development of our business in Central Queensland, Australia," Craig adds.

"Mike has signalled his intentions early so that TransDiesel can manage a comprehensive recruitment programme and smooth transition to new leadership. Mike will retain his interest in TransDiesel as a director and shareholder.

"He has built a strong executive team that will provide ongoing support through the transition, and the business is well-positioned for the new CEO to continue to build on the growth initiatives introduced by Mike.

"The Board of TransDiesel wants to acknowledge Mike’s impact on the success of the business during his tenure as CEO."

Christchurch-based executive recruiter, Mike Stenhouse of Sheffield Limited, has been appointed to manage recruitment of the new CEO.
