Featuring high ground clearance and a unique high-drive track system, the SK900 provides increased traction and better stability

The SK900 is the newest model to be released in the Mini Skid Steer Range from Ditch Witch, which now includes six construction-grade skid steers.

Featuring high ground clearance and a unique high-drive track system, the SK900 provides increased traction and better stability, while its zero daily greasing requirements, bolt-on sprockets, and track rollers make servicing the machine easy.

A feature unique to the Ditch Witch skid steer range is all track rollers are replaceable and include a low-maintenance track tensioning system.

The SK900 also features attachment plates that will carry a wide range of attachments and the biggest stand-on platform in the industry, the company says.

"The SK900 is a great new option within the range," says John Grant, CEA NZ general manager. "It features a few unique innovations making it an efficient and hard-working machine, and an impressive addition to our already strong line-up."

With a Yanmar 24hp turbo diesel motor and a new hydraulic system and ground drive, it punches well above its weight. "Running at a lower rpm than similar machines, the Yanmar engine is said to be much quieter than other units in the 24hp to 32hp class in the New Zealand market."

Featuring a new hydraulic pump and higher torque drive motor, the SK900 also helps ensure greater tractive effort than other machines in its class.

It will be noticeable to operators in applications where more pushing power is required, allowing operators to get more out of their machine while maintaining a smaller footprint.

As is standard across the Ditch Witch SK skid steer range, the SK900 has the same ground-drive speed in forward and reverse, but the newest model also features a troubleshooting code gauge on the dash, which helps with diagnostics, saving time when troubleshooting.

There’s also a new paddle throttle in lieu of a mechanical lever, so there’s no adjustment required for it, making for a more reliable set-up and easier to operate.

Where the other models in the Ditch Witch SK range have a steel guard that flips down and secures the fuel filler cap, the SK900 is available with a locking cap, speeding up access and making refuelling faster and easier.

"For operators using the SK900 in applications including digging, loading trucks, and preparing surfaces etc., having the additional ground-drive torque is very important," John says. "They’re the operators who’ll see a big benefit from the SK900."
