Specialist crush and screen machinery hire company Crush & Screen has announced a couple of brand-new fleet additions.

"We’re not seeing any real slowdown in the sector we operate in, and as one of the major hiring players, we want to have our machines regularly churning in and out of hire, so that at any given time there’s always something coming off-hire and available for a client just in time.

Adding to our fleet inventory increases our ability to do that," says Dane Fitzpatrick, Crush & Screen’s sales manager.

The company says lead times for new crusher machine orders, door-to-door, are currently longer than they have ever seen—something a number of different sectors are experiencing—and potentially could get longer with the current global turmoil. But they say their timing was bang on, and they’ve just taken delivery of two brand-new jaw crushers—the latest model of the Powerscreen 400x and the latest Terex J-1175.

Those in the industry will recognise the Powerscreen 400x; it has a solid, well-earned reputation as a mighty-hard worker that’s compact and portable and can be quickly set up. The latest version with hydraulic adjust comes with a few advancements, including in its crushing chamber.

Overall, these support the machine’s highly productive potential output of up to 300 tonnes per hour (depending on feed material).  "We’re expecting this machine to be highly sought after, as it’s perfect for mid-scale sized operations," says Dane.

The Terex Findlay J-1175 has an equally strong reputation for meeting the toughest demands of primary crushing applications. Its hydrostatic drive offers a reverse functionality to assist in clearing blockages, particularly useful in demolition and recycling applications, where there are mixed materials in the feed.

Interest from operators in quarrying, mining, demolition, and recycling applications is expected to be high. "Both machines have unique qualities suited to particular applications," says Dane.

"One of my jobs is to understand the customer’s needs, the operating environment, and material being processed and then make an appropriate recommendation from our fleet."
Dane says he has one last word: "dust."

"Crushers create lots of dust as everyone knows, especially given the minimal rainfall we’re seeing. So, when you hire your crusher—or an extra crusher—for your site, consider whether you also need extra measures to manage dust for the health and safety of your workers." He has a hire solution for that too with Crush & Screen’s Screenpod Dust Suppression water cannons.
