Ritchie Bros. is returning to NZ for the first time since 2019 with more than 280 items already consigned to its IronPlanet National Online Auction
The auction will take place on Wednesday, 1 September 2021.
Buyers can expect a massive range of construction and earthmoving equipment, including excavators, dozers, compactors, scrapers and more.
Ritchie Bros. is one of the world’s largest auctioneers of heavy equipment and trucks, offering customers end-to-end solutions for buying and selling used equipment and other assets.
"New Zealand is experiencing a boom in residential building and infrastructure projects with equipment in short supply. We’re expecting further demand as construction remains a national priority," says Neil Mayhew, Ritchie Bros New Zealand territory manager.
"This is our first online-only auction in New Zealand. Buyers will be able to inspect equipment at one of our yards at Hamilton or Paeroa, then join the auction online, and place bids from anywhere across the country.
"In North America and Australia, we’ve set new records for total sales, registered users, bids per item, and overall sales prices over the last year, and we’re expecting to see this trend continue in New Zealand."
In 2021, Ritchie Bros. has delivered record-breaking national auction results, with online buyer participation reaching new heights. The industry leader has taken all its auctions online and adapted to ensure customers are confident when bidding online offering inspection reports, photos, and service records.
Regional sales manager, Cody Watson says, "It’s shaping up to be the largest auction we’ve held in New Zealand for many years.
"We have many New Zealand-based customers who regularly buy and sell through our permanent auction sites in Brisbane and Geelong, as well as some who like to access Ritchie Bros. global sales.
"This is a great opportunity for New Zealanders to buy equipment right on their doorstep from our yards in Hamilton and Paeroa."
