Fiat Chrysler New Zealand has launched RAM 2500 and 3500 Trucks
New Zealand local importer, Fiat Chrysler New Zealand, has ramped up RAM’s presence with a nationwide 13-strong dealer group and a marketing campaign to support the newly launched RAM 2500 and 3500 Trucks.
The RAM 2500 and 3500 are imported direct from RAM’s North American factory by the New Zealand-owned Ateco Group, parent company of Fiat Chrysler New Zealand, and remanufactured in Australia by Walkinshaw Automotive to meet compliance rules.
Both versions of the RAM Truck are powered by a 6.7-litre turbodiesel engine, which produces 1084Nm of torque and are equipped with Laramie trim and equipment package.
Depending on the type of towing arrangement utilised, RAM Trucks feature a towing capacity of up to 6989kg for the RAM 2500 and 6170kg for the RAM 3500. Payload is 913kg for the RAM 2500 and 1713kg for the RAM 3500.
Standard equipment includes heated and ventilated front seats that are 10-way power operated for the driver and six-way for the front passenger, with all seats leather trimmed.
Apart from the 12-volt power outlets, there is a 240-volt 100 amp mains power socket. The ventilation system is climate control dual zone, the steering wheel is heated, the pedals are power adjustable, a sunroof is standard and the audio system has nine speakers and a sub-woofer.
The dashboard includes a vehicle information system. There are two rear cameras, one for the cargo area and another for reversing, which display on the 20cm touch screen display. The New Zealand RAM Truck range opens in the country with the RAM 2500 Laramie with a recommended retail price of $163,000 plus on-road costs and the RAM 3500 Laramie has a recommended retail price of $169,500 plus on-road costs.
