Time almost up to enter safety awards

Fleet operators and suppliers are being urged to enter Brake's Fleet Safety Awards 2016.

With the 17 June deadline fast approaching, the road safety charity is reminding companies that time is running out to enter.

Brake’s Fleet Safety Awards, sponsored by SurePlan, Suzuki, Telogis and Thrifty, is a prestigious awards programme, recognising the achievements of organisations and individuals working to reduce the number of road crashes involving at-work drivers.

"We’re inviting awards entries from any organisation with at-work drivers or with an interest in improving road safety," says Brake’s New Zealand director, Caroline Perry.

"We know there are lots of organisations doing fantastic work already to tackle their road risk. These awards are a great opportunity to celebrate their successes and share best practice within the industry," she says.

Last year’s winners included Tyco, Vector and Jim Wiles from Lumley, who won the Award for Outstanding Commitment to Road Safety.

This is the second year Brake has run the awards in Australasia, building on the success of its UK Fleet Safety Awards which have been running for over a decade.

The 2016 awards will be offered in five categories, ranging from the Company Driver Safety Award to Road Risk Manager of the Year.

Winners will be announced on Thursday 29 September 2016.
