As a regular attendee to the annual Alexandra Blossom Festival Truck Show, it is hard to remember the weather being anything other than superb and we were not disappointed again this year.
The one-day event did start off somewhat overcast and, just as the trucks fired up to take part in the renowned parade through Alexandra’s main streets, the sun broke through and the event continued with blue skies for the remainder of the festivities (not to mention the all-important photoshoot later in the day).
The prize for Star of the Show is awarded prior to the parade and the winner is given the honours of leading the convoy through the crowd lined streets. This year the big award went Road Metals with its pristine Mack Trident from Christchurch named Rock Dog.
Approximately 50 trucks followed the deserved winner around the parade circuit before returning to the venue at Alexandra Transports Dunstan Road yard for a BBQ and the remainder of the prize giving.
