German-based Kinshofer GmbH have announced they have signed an agreement to merge with Doherty Group; in a move that will see them acquire 100% of the group which includes Doherty Couplers and Attachments.

Kinshofer also own Australian-based Auger Torque; saying Doherty will add products to Kinshofer's already comprehensive offerings. They also say the purchase will improve distribution channels and provide enhanced local manufacturing with the Doherty Tauranga and Brisbane manufacturing facilities.

Jeremy Doherty, co-owner and managing director of the Doherty Group, says: "The concentration of knowledge and competence will form a powerful centre for future developments customers can only benefit from. In particular the combination of both product ranges will create more ground-breaking innovations for the industry. The whole Doherty management team, which will stay on in its entirety, is very excited to be part of this mutual future."

Doherty says they will continue to develop and sell products locally and globally, with Jeremy Doherty remaining with the business as managing director.
