Recent additions to Sanland Equipment Ltd’s product range have seen the company kept busy over recent months.

The first addition to the range was in late in 2014 when McCloskey International appointed Sanland as its sole dealer for New Zealand and the South Pacific. Two machines were purchased and the first of these has now been operating very successfully for several months at A & S Contractors Ltd’s Millbrook Quarry in Waipu.

The S130 double deck screener is a highly versatile and mobile unit that has enabled A & S Contractors to fill several important contracts since taking delivery. The S130 was replaced in stock by an R105 heavy-duty scalping screener equipped with apron feeder and punched plate top deck to enable the screening of large run of pit-type material.

Since then, Christy Turner Ltd (UK) and Pilot Crushtec Ltd (South Africa) have also agreed to have Sanland sell their products in the same markets. Christy Turner has more than a century of experience and is known worldwide for its design, manufacture and supply of high quality, robust, and reliable flaking mills, hammer mills, pulverisers, and associated plant. Many people will recognise some of its products as the C-type pulverisers manufactured for many years in New Zealand by Andrews and Beaven Ltd. These machines are identical in every detail and share full spare parts interchangeability.

Pilot Crushtec International (Pty) Ltd was founded in 1990 and has established itself as southern Africa’s leading supplier of mobile and semi-mobile crushing, screening, recycling, sand washing, stockpiling, compacting and material handling solutions. Sanland Equipment recently sold a skid mounted VSI crusher, which is being installed as this magazine goes to print. This unit is being used to turn ‘pea metal’ waste into profitable manufactured sand. The Twister VSI crushers are mounted on skid-frames that do not require concrete foundations and are designed for rapid installation and easy integration with existing plant. They are available to suit throughputs of 10 – 350 MTPH.

Sanland has also stepped up the supply of its Amberstone range of truck and OTR tyres. Mid-way through last year, the decision was made to considerably increase the range of truck tyres being held in stock at its Papakura warehouse. Most commons sizes of drive, steer and trailer patterns are now available at very competitive prices. Customers currently using them are reporting that wear and grip are on a par with their previous tyre suppliers and that this, combined with the pricing, is significantly lowering their monthly tyre costs.

As well as the new products, Sanland is still very active with its traditional lines, having picked up several contracts to manufacture crushing and screening plant for fixed installations. A steady stream of enquiries will ensure that this continues for the near- to mid-future. In addition to the manufacture of plants, the sales of spare and wear parts for crushers and screens is also a large part of the business, with the majority of orders being supplied on an ex-stock basis.
