Hard working and affordable Koala tree shears are a game changer for contractors

With the introduction of new models and two new brands, the dynamic Boss Attachment range of solutions has become a whole lot bigger.

"During the past few months, we’ve looked closely at opportunities to expand our ranges," says Boss MD Paul Herbison, "and the reaction from clients has been fantastic."

One of the additions is the new XC9 Crusher Bucket from the acclaimed Xcentric range. It weighs in at just 1.830kg and can operate on small 10- to 13-tonne excavators and is designed to process more than 70 cubic metres per hour working in hard limestone or concrete.

A unit purchased by Advanced Concrete Pumping, the XC9 is being used to crush their end of job surplus concrete into recycled aggregates. The company is a leading supplier of pumped concrete solutions throughout Auckland and Northland.

"We’ve had it running for about two months," says company MD Allan Sillick. "It is easy to operate, easy to service, and we’re getting really great commercial performance out of it." Alan is also stated that being able to operate the XC9 on a small 12-tonne excavator means it’s easy to truck between their Warkworth and Auckland yards.

"On top of that, the end product is so good that we’re now taking surplus concrete from other companies for crushing," Allan adds.

Also, new for Boss Attachments is their range of Koala tree shears, which despite the origin suggested by the name, actually comes from Northern Ireland.

Built to last longer with a durable Hardox body, Hardox shear arm, and replaceable Hardox blades, the Koala tree range provides a cost-effective solution for a wide range of felling, clearing, and pruning projects. The range includes models sized to suit 1.5- to 50-tonne excavators

"We’re really excited to bring this brand into the country," says Paul. "They are a great design and really well constructed, so we expect them to be a real winner with both the tree felling specialists and general contractors."
