Leading hire equipment company Access Solutions Ltd has recently taken delivery of two new 16m Jibbi 1670 EVO tracked self-propelled/self-levelling telescopic boom lifts. This is a credible endorsement for a product that has attracted great interest since being launched into the market by Youngman Richardson & Co Ltd late last year.

"We had seen the smaller version Jibbi 1250 EVO in action at the bauma trade show in Germany a couple of years ago," says Access Solutions managing director Michael Biddick.
"At the time, we were impressed but felt that the machine was more suited to the domestic market. However, we were aware that a bigger model better tailored for the commercial and industrial markets was on its way."

The Jibbi 1670 EVO will be a valuable addition to Access Solutions’ access equipment family and will provide an alternative to their existing boom lift fleet. "Different to other machines, it’s compact, lightweight, and this, together with its tracks and ability to move at height, provides problem-solving solutions for our customers and more hire opportunities for us," says Michael.

As with the Jibbi 1250 EVO and 850 BL EVO scissor lift model, the company’s Almac 1670 EVO incorporates automatic dynamic ‘Pro-Active’ levelling, allowing the machine to drive at height on slopes or undulating ground of up to 40% (22 degrees), with 15 degrees of side-to-side and 15 degrees of longitudinal levelling.

Access Solutions has purchased two, one for Auckland and one for Wellington. "The Pro-Active levelling is ideal for Wellington, which has hillier landscapes and can be adapted to different slopes bringing the outreach into play," he says.

The Jibbi 1670 EVO features a three-section telescopic boom topped by an articulated jib to offer a working height of 16 metres and an outreach of between 6.7 metres with the 230kg maximum platform capacity and 7.7 metres with 140kg, while the maximum outreach is 8.5 metres with up to 80kg in the platform, depending on the track width selected—1.35, 1.9, or 2.35 metres—and the superstructure slew position.

The platform can also be driven at working heights of up nine metres with non-marking tracks. "We see the Jibbi 1670 EVO as having great potential, and while it’s a little early to say, I’m confident we can expect a good return on investment in due course," says Michael.
