Mobile Screening and Crushing (MSC) is the exclusive New Zealand distributor for the Terex Ecotec range of processing, biomass, and recycling equipment. Formed more than 25 years ago, the business has developed a reputation committed to delivering innovative, quality solutions for difficult to process materials.

MSC already offers a comprehensive portfolio, which has expanded with the launch of the new TTS 518—Terex Ecotec’s newest trommel screen, which is compact yet uncompromised in features, the company says.

The TTS 518 has been intuitively designed to offer operators what has been called unrivalled application flexibility, production rates, and serviceability. "The addition of the TTS 518 will further enhance an already significant range of screening products, aiding MSC in offering the complete package solution for entry-level, medium- and large-scale processing operations," says Dan Meikle, MSC operations manager.

Product focus—TTS 518

Inspired by the successful TTS 620 model, the TTS 518 has been designed as an entry-level machine where lower volumes and a smaller machine footprint is required. It’s more compact without sacrificing key features, says MSC.

"This TTS 518 is perfect for the New Zealand recycling market as an entry-level machine; it’s ideal for small- to medium-sized operations where space may be limited or applications where lower volumes and a smaller machine footprint are required," says Dan.

Optimised screening

The intelligent feed control system continually monitors the machine, adjusting the feeder speed to optimise screening performance and throughput. Easy maintenance and material build-up prevention

The TTS 518 shares the same intuitive control system and ‘push to start’ buttons used on the larger TTS 620 model, allowing the operator to effortlessly configure the machine to suit the required application.

The feeder has also been designed as a slide-out cassette, which allows for easy maintenance and quick and simple belt changing. The clear tunnel area underneath the feeder prevents material build-up and allows any material in this area to drop directly onto the ground.

All the conveyors are fully modular, allowing each to be removed independently, with the fines and oversize also lowering to ground level for maintenance. "Terex has focused on efficiency, serviceability, and maintenance access when designing this machine. It has amazing access to all belts, drum, engine, and hydraulics," says Dan.

Adaptability

The new TTS 518 has been designed to accept a number of other trommel manufacturers’ drums, enabling it to integrate seamlessly into an operators existing fleet. "The interchangeable drum with other manufacturers is a feature that sets the TT518 Trommel’s drum apart from a number of other drum designs," says Dan.

Spiral design

Providing a total screening area of 23 square metres, the TTS 518 is fitted with a 1.8 x 4.7-metre horizontal drum with a spiral design.

Efficiency

The TTS 518 is fully equipped with the latest Stage V Tier 4 engine (Dual Certified) engine and the latest intelligent screening technology. The TTS 518 helps deliver a superior and cost-efficient end-product, excellent fuel efficiency, and low operating costs, MSC says. It also comes with the latest engine technology complying with Stage V emissions standards.

Versatile

The TTS 518 is available in both tracked and wheeled variants and can screen a variety of material including compost, biomass, soil, gravel, and waste. "The compact TTS 518 is available in both tracked and wheeled configuration and, with a quick set-up time, the trommel is easily transportable," says Dan.

"It’s the manufacturer’s most compact model yet and can be used on sites with limited space. We operate New Zealand-wide in both sales and hire," says Dan.
