Scania NZ has announced two new strategic sales roles that they say will help the heavy truck brand meet demand as well as reinforce its ongoing commitment to a customer-first approach.

The new roles are national sales key account manager and sales account manager in Waikato. Scania NZ director of sales, Deon Stephens, says the additional roles not only represent quality acquisitions but they will also directly benefit the offerings and services for Scania customers.

"We’re very much building on the growth and success the brand has enjoyed — and worked hard towards — for the last three years. And when we have the privilege of being number one in market share for heavy trucks in New Zealand for that same period, we also have a responsibility to ensure we support that position with the resources for our team and customers so that we can maintain and expand on where we are."

Clive Jones will take on the role of national sales key account manager, starting with the business in September. He comes from his previous roles as national sales manager and general manager for Volvo and Mack sales in New Zealand, which he held for nearly 20 years, alongside other previous key leadership sales roles.

"The appeal for me is working with a factory-backed and owned brand of the quality and standing of Scania. Their focus makes for a much more seamless sales process that brings greater efficiencies — focussing on brand first and foremost," says Clive.

Robbie Greenhalgh comes on-board in the role of sales account manager new trucks that’s based in Scania’s new Hautapu branch in Cambridge and will focus on the Waikato and South Auckland regions.

"We’ve experienced significant growth in these strategic regions and are delighted to have Robbie joining the team. His industry experience and passion are a natural fit with Scania," says Dion.

Robbie has 20 years of experience in the trucking industry — the last two years selling new and used trucks. His 18 years prior to that were with Scania in various roles.

"Great things are never done by one person; they’re done by a team of people, and that’s the culture that motivated me to return to Scania in this role," says Robbie.
