Restoration project for sale

A rusted Payloader is up for sale, searching for someone who is down for a challenge

West Auckland-based property owner John Donovan is putting a Payloader up for sale and is looking for someone who may be interested in bringing it back to its former glory.

"I originally purchased the loader to move logs to my portable mill as we progressively sub-divided a farm into smaller lifestyle properties," John says.

"Unfortunately, due to the geography of the land we could only use it in certain areas, and one day it got parked up, never to be used again."

During the time it has been sitting unused, deterioration has set in and John says when he went to restart the machine, found the fuel lines had rusted away.

"It was going well when we parked it up, but when a mechanic checked it over, he advised us not to start it as rust from the deteriorated lines could damage the engine. The machine is being sold on an ‘as is where is’ basis, and comes with log forks and a bucket.

"I don’t want a lot of money for it, but it would be nice to see someone get it up and running again," he says.
