Engineering company Robur Attachments celebrated its first anniversary in Auckland by holding a breakfast barbeque at its Mt Wellington factory. The business specialises in excavator attachments and buckets, which are well-known in the marketplace, being fitted new to excavators by a number of equipment distributors and also sold to machinery owners throughout New Zealand and overseas.

Attendees were able to see a new Robur Powertilt being fitted to a new mini excavator and were taken on a tour of the engineering workshop.

"We have invested heavily after taking over the premises 12 months ago," says company director Clem Simpkin.

"Among a lot of the procedures we have put in place, the sizes of welding stations have increased and we are currently commissioning a purpose-made spray booth, which will be operational in a few weeks."

A recent survey showed a high level of staff satisfaction with improvements that have been carried out and optimism for the business as a whole.

"I’m really chuffed to see staff who are engaged with the business and turning out quality work. It really means a lot to me," says Clem.

According to Clem, the business is now positioned to increase capacity with a number of initiatives and products under development.

"We did a lot of work getting things in order during 2019, and now we are ready to move things forward," he says.
