Kobelco releases new series 7 excavators

The new series includes the all-new Kobelco SK75SR-7 and SK85MSR-7 excavators and will be available in NZ through MIMICO

Kobelco has released its next-generation SK75SR-7 and SK85MSR-7 excavators in its midi range with features not been seen on excavators of this size before. The manufacturers say the new models set high industry standards, offering greater efficiency, superior productivity, and advanced interior design for optimal operational comfort.

Kobelco Australia’s general manager of sales and service, Doug McQuinn, says, "Several years of research and development, including listening to valuable feedback from owners of the previous SK75SR-3 and SK85MSR-3 models, has led to the significant improvements you see in these new models, raising the bar yet again in excavator design and innovation.

"The new SK75SR-7 and SK85MSR-7 excavators offer superior performance, greater efficiency, and productivity with increased power and speed. The interior cab fit-out presents more like that of a European car than an excavator, giving the operator a comfortable and safe workplace featuring simple and elegant design with functional beauty and aesthetic sense."

Specifications include an increase in engine output and lifting capacity. With a dynamic digging force of 60.2kN, the arm digging speed is increased by 37%, resulting in reducing the digging cycle time by 15%. With the Yanmar Tier 4 Final engine, the power output is increased by 27.9%.

"The short radius design allows operators to work in compact spaces and Kobelco’s proprietary iNDr system delivers ultra-quiet operation and protection from dust, making them ideal for urban environments. These excavators are also very easy to service and maintain," says Doug.

Stepping inside, the new large-sized cab has features such as an air suspension seat, ergonomic controls, a smartphone holder, Bluetooth telephone connectivity, a 10-inch colour multi-display monitor, built-in rear, left, and right cameras.

"Another attractive feature is the installation of LED backlights on switches and dials. The LED interior light automatically turns on when the door is opened or when the ignition is turned off ensuring easy entry and exit when operating on jobsites in the evening," says Scott Turner, sales and marketing manager of MIMICO, the Kobelco dealer in New Zealand.

The new range will feature three model configurations. The notable difference between the SK75SR-7 and SK85MSR-7 is the boom configuration.

The SK75SR-7 is available with fixed mono boom and offset boom configurations.  The SK85MSR-7 is available with swing boom configuration giving major competition to traditional straight-boom midi excavators available in the market.

The new series 7 excavators are now available from MIMICO.
