In the last Old School Trucks instalment of STL Linehaul, Deals on Wheels takes a look at what can only be described as the company brand favourite — Kenworth

From the 1980s to today, Kenworths have been the most popular brand utilised in the fleet, including several of the brand contracted to the company by owner/operators.

It’s hard to single out any favourites of the last 20 years or so, as there were so many fine examples, from the mighty wee L700 ‘Little Black Bear’ to ‘Black Stallions Daddy’ — an even more mighty T904 Kenworth — and onwards to the sensational new K200 Kenworth king cabs of more recent times.

Every truck was personalised and named, most having the reference to the colour black.
Looking back, Stock Transporters and then STL Linehaul certainly created a legacy on New Zealand roads.

The Pearson family were that legacy, and as of 1 July 2023, there was a change of guard with a group of investors acquiring the company to become STL Linehaul (2023) Limited. Will a new legacy be born? Only time will tell.
