A beautiful crystal clear spring day dawned in Central Otago for the 2018 Alexandra Truck Show, which was held on Saturday, 22 September

The show culminates with the Blossom Festival, which sees the trucks join the parade through the crowd-lined streets of the township. The trucks gather for judging at Alexandra Transports (ATL) Dunstan Road yard for judging before heading into town later on in the morning.

This year saw a change of itinerary and instead of the trucks returning to the ATL yard for prize-giving, the truckies were given the option of parking their trucks down a side street near the middle of the town to be put on display for the thousands of festival goers.

With 91 trucks, the show saw a significant increase in the number of entries from the previous year. The coveted ‘Star of the Show’ award—presented prior to leaving for the parade with the winner leading the convoy through the streets—was awarded to Summerland Transport this year for their immaculate Western Star.

The prize-giving ceremony was held at the Alexandra Town and Country Club later in the afternoon. Check out some highlights from the event.
