Big day of family fun at Christchurch Trucking Show 2016

The trucking industry is set to come together on Saturday, 8 October as the Christchurch Trucking Show roars into life.

SI-Show

Held at the Wigram Airforce Base, the Christchurch Trucking Show promises a fantastic family day out with hundreds of big trucks gathering for a fun day of competitions, demonstrations and entertainment.

The main feature of the show is the Truck Show & Shine. "It’s a spectacle you simply won’t want to miss," says Dave Boyce, CEO of the NZ Trucking Association. "Last year saw 269 trucks enter, this time we may beat that." This year’s competition also features a new category, the Ute Show & Shine.

Canterbury Civil Contractors have joined the show for 2016 and will be holding their National Excavator Competition.

For those keen on a career in the trucking and transport industry, the Careers Hub will be highlighting job opportunities and training options.

And there’s plenty for kids to see and do with a heavy trucks giant sandpit, a paint-by-numbers giant canvas, chill out space with colouring in, Doug the Digger and a scooter roadway for kids to test their road safety skills.

This year’s event also features a new attraction, the Tarping Championship 2016, which promises to ramp up the rivalry between truck drivers.

Space is filling fast for the event with MAN, Western Star, Hino, Mercedes, Fuso, Freightliner, Scania and more lining up in the new Show Off section. And as trucks scramble for key spots, sponsors already include Heavy Trucks, CTS, Navman, VTNZ, Fonterra, Hino, TR Group Master drive, Cable Price, Eroad, Candrive, Bridgestone, Caltex and McKeown, to name a few!

Some space and sponsorship is still available.
