The 2016 Taupo Truck Show ‘N’ Shine is an integral part of the New Zealand Truck Show and Racing Festival, which was held at Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park near Taupo on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Anzac Weekend.

The track racing included everything from pro twin motorcycles to the super trucks which, along with the Show and Shine Truck Show, provided excellent entertainment for the large crowds in attendance over the three days.

The truck show itself kicked off on the Saturday morning with 70-plus trucks parading through the main streets of Taupo to the venue, culminating in the convoy doing a lap around the actual race track before being parked up for the truck show display. Local Taupo trucking identity Johnny Wanoa was one of the key organisers of the truck show and, along with his team, not only ensured it was an excellent and successful event, but also raised more than $2000 for Autism New Zealand.

The Overall Truck of the Show was awarded to ‘Stumpy’ in his big black Hog Haulage/TAA Logistics Kenworth. Here are some other highlights from the impressive turn out.
