Event: Attach2 Demo Day 2021

Initially envisioned as a single-day event, Equip2 recently held a two-day event to allow for more people from the industry to attend under Level 2 restrictions

Touted as New Zealand’s biggest annual quarrying equipment event, the Equip2 Demo Day—in its fourth iteration—boasted everything a professional would want at an equipment focused gathering, with plenty of machinery, practical demonstrations, and networking opportunities.

Equip2 partnered with Terra Cat again this year, who provided a Caterpillar 345GC excavator and Caterpillar 966GC wheel loader used during the two days of demonstrations. With more than seven live demonstrations, there was plenty to see from Keestrack and Portafill equipment.

QDC, a Masterton-based contractor and quarry, provided the space for all the gear. Some of their Keestrack quarrying machines were a part of the demonstrations. Breakfast, lunch, and coffee were provided at Equip2’s new workshop and offices, allowing attendees a place to network and discuss other static equipment in detail.

Finishing off each day was a shredding equipment demonstration with Equip2’s latest line of equipment from EDGE Innovate. The EDGE Slayer XL shredded some locally sourced demolition waste heavy with wood, tin, and other materials that wouldn’t go through a crusher, providing an interesting solution to processing different materials.

"Every Demo Day has been bigger and better; the Demo Day is not only one of the largest of its kind in the country but also positions Equip2 as the equipment advisor for the quarry and mining industry," says Bert Hart, Equip2 department manager.

"It provides an opportunity for customers to network with others and pick up innovative ideas, which they can take back to their own operation. It’s something we facilitate and give back to the industry."
