Wiltech Solutions: Quicksilver and Durapro liners

Quicksilver and Durapro liners

Wiltech Solutions supplies the contracting, mining, and quarry sectors in NZ with Quicksilver and Durapro liners that ensure faster, safer load tipping at lower angles

For the past 40 years, Richard Bathurst has been running his own businesses, with the last 21 of those as Wiltech Solutions, which is the South Pacific’s sole importer and distributor of Quicksilver and Durapro lining systems used in the contracting, mining, and quarry sector.

“The high-quality slippery liners are made of a polymer that’s so hard that you could hit it all day with a sledgehammer and all you’ll break is your shoulder,” says Richard.

“So, carting boulders and rock won’t hurt them. The product also out-wears aluminium four to one, and in some cases, steel two to one.”

He adds that the release capability due to its low coefficient of friction means a load will tip off 45% quicker and at a much lower angle.

“This not only speeds up your daily operation, meaning you could get an extra load in a day, making you more money, but the health and safety aspect also cannot be overlooked.”

Tipping trailers are a lot longer these days and the likelihood of a rollover when discharging a load tipping is always a possibility. With Quicksilver or Durapro installed, the height required for tipping is reduced, minimising the risk.

“Talk to your insurance company,” says Richard. “They could look at lower premiums if you have one of our liners installed.

“The reasons above are why most of the bigger operators around the country choose to line their trucks with our liners. It just makes economic sense.

“We have seen an increase of operators with vacuum trucks utilising our liners, as the product doesn’t stick to the inside of the bowl and tips out easier, and you don’t have your staff digging hard muck out of the bowl.”

Wiltech doesn’t have a dedicated sales team. Instead, it relies on word of mouth and the OEMs nationwide to sell its product.

“Our online presence could be a lot better, but our website jumps to the top of the page on any Google search,” says Richard.

“Installation of the liners is either carried out by one of my team or instructions can be supplied for those who are comfortable installing their own.”
