Hyundai New Zealand has announced they will launch a mid-duty truck known as the Hyundai PAVISE in July

Hyundai New Zealand has announced they will launch a mid-duty truck known as the Hyundai PAVISE in July. The new model joins the Mighty light-duty and XCIENT heavy-duty models as the brand’s key models locally.

"The PAVISE allows us to enter a new market, which we’re excited about," says Hyundai New Zealand CEO, Andy Sinclair. "In addition, we’re able to build factory box and refrigeration bodies in Korea, enabling us to better meet needs of quicker body build times."

The PAVISE has a 5.9-litre turbo diesel engine (246hp/183kW), with max torque of 853Nm and new low friction rings. The ZF Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) features monitoring for efficiency of gear shifts and fuel consumption. Additionally, Advanced Eco Roll shifts into neutral gear, taking advantage of downhill coasting.

The rear air suspension is designed for stable posture and ride comfort while allowing adjustment of the cargo bed height for loading and unloading. The PAVISE has a cab that’s 31% larger than the industry standard truck, says Hyundai. The cab includes a bed and a tip-up passenger seat for extra room.

The heated steering wheel houses frequently used controls and a five-inch gauge cluster displays a wide range of information, while the eight-inch infotainment unit has navigation capabilities and Bluetooth for smartphones with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and MirrorLink.

"The PAVISE has the most up-to-date technological systems, including forward collision avoidance, lane departure warning, vehicle dynamic control, autonomous emergency braking system, electronically-controlled brake system, and both driver and passenger airbags," adds Andy There’s a choice of two chassis sizes that will be available for viewing at Hyundai truck dealers around the country from late July.
