Nokian heavy-duty steer axle tyre for on/off-road use

Nokian's new heavy-duty tyre is designed with self-cleaning properties, which enable good grip even on soft surfaces

Tyre manufacturer Nokian says their R-Truck series was developed for the special needs of on/off-road use on a muddy forest road or construction site as well as on a highway.

Now they say, the introduction of the heavy-duty Nokian R-Truck Steer XL steer axle tyre in size 385/65R22.5 will make even the heaviest construction and timber trucks ready for both worlds.

Designed with self-cleaning properties, which enable good grip even on soft surfaces, while high-quality materials in the manufacturing process help ensure resistance against chipping and tearing, the maker says.

"We wanted to enable the heaviest construction and timber trucks to have heavy-duty on/off-road tyres, so we developed the Nokian R-Truck Steer XL," says Teppo Siltanen, product manager at Nokian Tyres.

Additional features of Nokian R-Truck Steer XL include an open tread pattern and wide grooves that assist with self-cleaning and grip for better controlled steering in varying driving conditions. The main grooves have stone ejectors that help prolong operating life, especially on rough surfaces.
