The Turners Truck & Machinery Show returns for its third year at Pukekohe Park Raceway on 2 December 2018

The third edition of the Turners Truck & Machinery Show, in association with National Road Carriers, is set to kick off on 2 December 2018, and this time, it’s at a new venue—Pukekohe Park Raceway.

Popular show favourites such as the UDC Show & Shine will return and organisers are expecting more than 150 truck entries. A new category, Best Company Ute/Pick Up has been is also up for grabs this year.

The MIMICO Excavator Competition, in association with Deals on Wheels, will also be back for its second year but in a new format, which will see more competitors entering with only the best progressing through the day to make it to the final round. The winner will be awarded a cash prize. Entries are now open online.

Last year, the entries were dominated by male operators but this year, the organisers hope to get more diversity and are encouraging female operators to enter not just the excavator competition but also others such as the Truck Reversing Competition and the Truck Wheel Changing Competition, both to be entered on the day of the show.

"Our industry is constantly changing, more so now than ever with women being on the forefront. With these competitions, we hope to see more women operators display their skills," Randolph Covich, Deals on Wheels editor, says.

Attendees will also get a chance to ride in a big rig around the track for a gold coin donation, with the proceeds going to Pukekohe Volunteer Fire Brigade.

Internet celebrity, Robbie ‘Gooserooster’ Shefford will also be at the event to entertain the crowd, and there will be a bar and live band from noon.

Gates open at 9am. $10 entry (free for under 12 with a paying adult).
