Toyota Sora FC Bus launches
Sales of Sora, the first fuel cell bus, began in Japan on 7 March 2018
Toyota Motor Corporation announced that sales of its Sora (stands for Sky, Ocean, River, Air, representing the Earth’s water cycle) FB Bus began on 7 March.
Sora is the first fuel cell bus to receive vehicle type certification in Japan, and more than 100 buses are expected to be introduced by 2020, mainly in the Tokyo metropolitan area, ahead of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo.
Toyota’s Start Your Impossible global initiative last year saw the company transform from an automobile company to a mobility service company.

- Horizontal seats with an automatic storage mechanism
- Eight high-definition cameras to detect pedestrians and cyclists
- Acceleration control function for improved safety
