Hino US releases new XL range of trucks with XL7 and XL8

Hino US takes a leap into the larger Class 7 and Class 8 market segment with the recent release of their XL range of trucks—the XL7 and XL8

Both trucks will be powered by Hino’s well-known 8.9-litre A09 diesel engine, which outputs 223kW (300hp) to 360 (268kW) horsepower while providing up to 1559Nm of torque.

Hino says the design was conceptualised from the ground up and includes components from well-known manufacturers such as Wabco brakes, Dana axles and drivelines, and Hendrickson suspension. The XL Series will be available in different configurations comprising cab and chassis or tractor units.

Safety is addressed with Wabco’s electronic stability control platform, collision avoidance, and lane departure warning. Hino’s telematics monitoring system also comes standard with each vehicle as does three-year 24/7 roadside assistance.

Hino first introduced conventional trucks to the US market in 2004, and the new larger models will be available for order from later this year, with the delivery of 4x2 units from early 2019 and 6x4 models from June 2019 onwards.
