Show n' Shine competition heats up

The ultimate Show n’ Shine title is on the line once again at the 2017 Transport and Heavy Equipment Expo (THE Expo) held at Mystery Creek Events Centre 2 – 4 March.

Registrations are open and the call is out to find the ultimate champions in each of the six categories; curtain siders, flat decks and tractor units, tankers, tippers, livestock and loggers, classic trucks and the overall supreme winner.  As well as the People’s Choice Award decided by visitor votes.

As well as the opportunity to showcase your vehicle in all its glory, there are some impressive prizes up for grabs.

Previous winner Scott Young was pretty amazed his family owned truck from Ohakune took out the top spot. His 1984 vehicle was the first 8-wheeler Mack Cruiseliner in the country. In her day she carried carrots and potatoes but was pretty much retired at the time of entering just doing trips from the field to the packhouse, said Scott.

Maintaining a hard working truck and keeping that personalised artwork slick, chrome highly polished and paint jobs pristine can be a difficult task, so judging will consider presentation of the vehicle, truck ‘personality’ and special features.

Sure to be a crowd favourite, the competition will be fierce as each category fights for the honours of best rig. If you think you have what it takes register for the Show n’ Shine competition at theexpo.co.nz.

Entry to THE Expo is free to those working in the transport, logistics, heavy equipment, forestry, construction, and quarry and mining industries. Register for your free tickets at theexpo.co.nz or phone 0800 004 444.
