Product feature: CTE booms

Waimea Truck and Crane are the exclusive NZ distributors of truck-mounted elevated work platforms (EWPs) made by leading European manufacturer CTE

"We specialise in truck-mounted solutions and already imported insulated EWPs like Versalift and Donghae, which we build up for the utilities sector," says general manager Kingsley Thomas.

CTE produce more than 1000 booms annually

"We’d seen an opportunity in the market for non-insulated EWPs and found CTE booms to be very well suited to the New Zealand environment. CTE produce more than 1000 booms annually and are well respected internationally for producing easy-to-operate booms that are extremely efficient for a wide range of applications."

The ZED series from CTE offers an incredibly versatile working range due to its unique combination of functions: point and shoot with the straight telescopic boom, up and over reach and straight vertical lift with the articulating boom sections, and the jib and swivelling bucket to help refine your access to the work position.

CTE booms can also be fitted with the likes of a high-pressure water connection and 230V power supply to the basket.

The boom has no tail overhang, which allows it to be parked in narrow spaces and minimises traffic disruption. This makes it one of the most versatile booms available in New Zealand and the ideal choice for construction, roofing and building maintenance, window cleaning, tree maintenance, sign and security installation—the possibilities are endless.

Waimea has several trucks in its rental fleet with CTE booms and will also be building up new units early this year using both CTE ZED21J and ZED26J booms on a range of cab/chassis options.
