Almost 100 trucks participated in the Show n’ Shine competition held at THE Expo in early March.

According to the Deals on Wheels photographers on site, the standard of presentation was exceptional and they report that it was good to see a number of Waikato-based trucks not normally seen on the show circuit being pulled out from storage and placed on display for the public. Tony and Ned Kelly’s R Model Mack took away the Classic Truck award for his R Model Mack that the pair have restored over the last three-and-a-half years.

The People’s Choice award was won by first-time winner Anna Lockley of Waihi, whose Kenworth SAR 409 was the crowd’s favourite.

The next event will be held in 2021 and organisers say planning will get under way once a survey and follow-up have been conducted.
