Power meets precision: Platinum Earthworks is taking efficiency to new levels with the John Deere 333G and SG96 dozer blade

In his time, Damien Patterson from Bay of Plenty-based Platinum Earthworks has seen his share of compact track loaders, rattling off a list of memorised brand names the business has had over the years. It appears, however, that he might have stumbled on the magic elixir with the John Deere 333G from Brandt.

By taking the time to understand the wide variety of work Damien’s operation supports, Brandt was able to cleverly fit the Dozer SG96 blade along with 2D laser technology on the nimble body of a compact track loader, allowing the machine to navigate tight turns and grade smooth planar surfaces with precise ease, increasing its versatility on the job site. Damien can now deliver faster and more precise results to a customer base that extends right across to Gisborne, Taupō and Hawke’s Bay.

John Deere says the blade is the most advanced ever conceived for a compact machine and is leading-edge technology in every sense of the term, with six-way power angle tilt technology ideal for grading, earthmoving, and shaping tasks. The blade, with 2D technology, makes for a dynamic combination for maximum productivity.

“The blade really outclasses anything we’ve had before, including box-blades. It is solid and being multi-directional allows us to place material fast and efficiently,” says Damien.

“We’ve had the machine about six months and the blade still sits securely – there’s maybe two millimetres of play even after all the work we’ve used it on so far. It really is nice and smooth,” he says.

Brandt says it prides itself on being a business that can provide service and parts from a nationwide network of 17 branches, so wherever a customer is in the country, they can be assured that help is always near at hand.

“We’ve been well looked after by Brandt and they’ve supplied us a machine that puts us a step ahead of others in terms of efficiency and delivery of end product,” says Damien.

Brandt also offers John Deere construction equipment across the popular categories, including compact to large excavators, skid steers, wheel loaders, crawler dozers and motor graders.
