According to NZ company Loadsense, their recently launched truck and trailer scales will be a game-changer for trucking companies around the world
The system uses Wireless Bluetooth communication to transmit the total net and gross weight of a truck and trailer/s and individual axle groups to mobile Android/Apple devices (phones/tablets) rather than an onboard indicator.
“The system is a world-first, as it can support many different weighing sensor types, such as air sensors, load cells, hydraulics, angle, height, and rotary, to suit varied suspension types on the truck and trailer,” says Loadsense CEO Roberto Stevens.
With more than 40 years of experience working in the weighing industry, Roberto saw the opportunity to design a weighing system that would be more functional and cost-effective for trucking companies.
The Loadsense Integrator communicates the real-time weight information received from the sensors via Bluetooth 5.0 to a user’s device using the Loadsense app.
The unit has a 50-metre line of sight range, allowing the information to be sent either to the driver in the cab of their vehicle and/or to the loader operator.
To improve site safety, it can be used for personnel outside, in an office, or a safe location onsite while the vehicle is being loaded.
“The price for the system starts at less than $3000, making it one of the cost-effective weighing systems currently on the market,” says Loadsense general manager Rob Schultz.
“The system took over four years to design and has been developed here in New Zealand. We are already receiving enquiries from around the world, so we are very excited about the product’s potential to make companies more efficient and effective at managing their payload.
“Loadsense is confident it will have a complete worldwide distributor network within a short time.”
