Penske expands NZ dealer network

Penske New Zealand has expanded its national truck and parts service coverage by adding three new dealers to its network in Whangarei, Gisborne, and Blenheim

The newly signed partners – Total Parts and Service (TPS) in Gisborne, Whangarei Diesels, and On Site Mechanical Repairs in Blenheim – will support the MAN Truck & Bus, Western Star Trucks, and Detroit engine brands.

The move strengthens Penske’s footprint across key regional areas, allowing for greater accessibility to service and support for commercial transport operators.

TPS, which has been operating in Gisborne for over 15 years under managing director David Scammell, now adds Penske’s brands to its service portfolio. Scammell says the partnership was a significant step forward for the business and its customers.

In Northland, Whangarei Diesels joins the network, led by founder Joel Cleaver, who has nearly 15 years in business and a lifelong passion for diesel engines. Cleaver says his focus remains on keeping customers moving, no matter the challenges.

Meanwhile, On Site Mechanical Repairs in Blenheim brings nearly a decade of heavy equipment expertise to the network. Director Ben McMaster says the team’s approach has always been to “do it once and do it right,” and that the Penske partnership aligns with their commitment to quality.

Penske New Zealand general manager Kevin Smith said the additions mean improved support for operators across the country, regardless of their location.

The network expansion is supported by two new leadership appointments: Andrew Hodgkinson as national aftersales support manager and Warren Smith as dealer support manager, both aimed at enhancing the service experience and providing tailored commercial vehicle solutions.
