Harrybilt deliver leading edge solutions for rail infrastructure

Boss Attachments NZ, which carry some of Australasia’s leading ranges of attachments for the demolition, earthmoving, forestry mining, and construction sectors, have just added rail infrastructure specialist Harrybilt to their list of quality brands.
“We’re really excited to make this announcement,” says Boss managing director Paul Herbison. “They are a world-leader in their specialist field, and their location just across the ditch at Ballarat in Victoria will also provide us with important benefits.”
Like Boss Attachments, Harrybilt is a family-owned business, with extensive expertise in the development and manufacture of highly innovative and customised solutions for rail infrastructure, including Hi-Rail and rail guidance systems.
The rail guidance systems, which are fully compliant with AS7502, provide for base vehicles to operate across a wide range of line widths. These can be fitted to wheeled excavators, backhoe loaders, or trucks and light vehicles.
The Hi-Rail system is also AS7502 compliant and is used to adapt track excavators and trucks for rail application. Harrybilt also manufactures an extensive range of rail maintenance equipment that includes rail and sleeper handling attachments.
“We’re excited about our new association with Harrybilt,” says Paul. “It’s a leading-edge brand that will provide us with a range of niche opportunities as we move into 2022.”
Boss already has strong credentials for rail-related projects, with its Dymax Rail and Antraquip Milling Head ranges. During the past few years, Antraquip Milling Heads have delivered significant benefits to important projects, such as the Kaikoura Rail rebuild and Northern Rail Line upgrade. More recently, they have also been operating at the City Rail Link project.
“These milling heads operate with little or no cracking of the area outside the excavation line, so they deliver significant advantages over breakers and hammers,” Paul adds.

Other recent additions to the Boss brand wagon are the Koala Tree Shear and MotoFog ranges. “We finalised discussions with both companies during 2021, and a number of units have recently arrived in New Zealand.”
Built to last longer with a durable Hardox body, Hardox shear arm, and replaceable Hardox blades, the Koala Tree Shear is a fast and cost-effective solution for a wide range of felling and pruning projects. Five model sizes are available to suit 1.5- to 50-tonne excavators.
MotoFog has become a recognised leader in dust suppression, with an operating range of up to 50 metres. Diesel and electric powered units are available, and they provide a breath of fresh air for safety-conscious quarry, construction, and demolition contractors.
Boss Attachments say their leading range of products have been developed to deliver extreme added value performance for its clients and this focus is supported by an uncompromising level of after-sales service.
“So even though COVID continues to be a challenge, we’re committed to doing everything that we possibly can to provide clients with the level of service that they can rely on,” says Paul.
