As the National Agricultural Fieldays rolls around again, Landex is preparing to debut some new models at their site D24 at the show
Pride of place this year goes to the worldwide exhibition debut of a new grader series from XCMG, with a GR2405 on display. The 18-tonne/240hp version features a Dana fully automatic transmission and heavy-duty rippers.
XCMG recently secured an order for three units of a larger model grader from BHP, the world’s largest mining company, and the machines are already in use at their Pilbara iron ore site. This was seen as a breakthrough sale for mining specification equipment from XCMG.
The GR2405 features many high-end features of the mining version. Most noticeably, it is the first series from XCMG to have the chassis pivot behind the cabin.
XCMG is already the largest selling grader in China, Africa, the Arab states, and South America. They have high hopes that their market influence will continue with the new models.
At Fieldays, Landex will also display the all-new 4WD Mantall ‘multitask’ slab scissor, which was specifically developed for Landex by Mantall.
“We have had an excellent response to the demonstrator version in the New Zealand market and look forward to the first ‘for sale’ shipment in June,” Landex director Ross Linton says.
“The innovative scissor features high ground clearance and the remarkable ability to climb a 40% gradient.”
However, the self-levelling leg function has caught the attention of experienced users, with the scissor allowing the machine to work on heavily sloping building aprons. “No other slab scissor on the market can match it for an all-in-one package, hence the ‘multitask’ moniker,” Ross says.
Landex will also be displaying the orchard version of their popular rough terrain forklift series.
In this configuration, the 2WD forklift with automatic diff-lock is fitted with a 3.5-metre duplex wide-view mast. The Isuzu-powered units will be available at $31,000 plus GST—easily the cheapest rough terrain forklift on offer in New Zealand according to the company.
Landex will also be displaying one of their new battery-powered forklifts. The 4.5-tonne model will be set up with a container mast and bale clamp. The display unit has been already sold to Waste Management and will be loaned for Fieldays.
