These include the four-feed hopper BP1200-48TB tracked blender and the twin-feed hopper PM1200-20TB tracked pugmill.

These high-capacity machines expand the local range of IMS blenders and pugmills on offer and will fit seamlessly into the New Zealand market, according to their distributor.

“There is a clear and obvious shift towards using more recycled and blended product in construction material,” says Garth Taylor, MIMICO’s material processing business manager.

“So, we need to be able to offer the New Zealand market the best available equipment to allow operators to get the ideal outcome for their business.

“Exact blending is essential to meet tight specifications and the new IMS machines offer accurate blending results along with high processing volumes.”

The BP1200-48TB blender contains four distinct five-metre-long feed hoppers

The BP1200-48TB blender contains four distinct five-metre-long feed hoppers with separate conveyors, each holding 12 cubic metres. All feeder belts are equipped with variable speed control to allow the operator to define material ratios from each bin.

The machine is powered by a CAT C7.1 generator that can be alternatively connected to the mains power.

It also has sufficient on-board power to drive a 24-metre radial stacker for extra stockpile capacity. The Nord electric gear drive motors allow for a wide range of accurate speeds to suit low-percentage blends.

The undercarriage consists of a robust modular chassis fitted with 4500mm long crawler tracks. Four hydraulically operated support legs are provided on the four corners of the chassis to ensure complete stability when the machine is in operation.

The BP1200-48TB can also feed an IMS electric pugmill on skids, along with the 24-metre radial stacker, with the option of adding two powders and/or two liquids.

All controls are centrally located, and the electrical cabinet can also be wired to mains electricity, while there are manual controls for the hydraulic cylinders and flow control operation.

The machine includes two variable speed belt feeders, a cement weigh hopper, the option of an additional weigh hopper, liquid additive, and various options for mixing shaft design.

The two separate five-metre-long feed hoppers, each holding 12 cubic metres, with the option of vibrating hydraulic tipping grids and a three-metre-long pugmill, help ensure a quality mix when adding high percentages of powders and liquids.

The pugmill has the option of adding two powders with two separate mobile silos, as well as two liquids. A four-sided platform surrounding the additive hoppers, with an access stairwell, is also provided.

The machine is fully automated using precise PLC control and recording systems, ensuring the correct percentage of fines is added to a given product. Moisture can be recorded and controlled, further increasing the quality of the final product.

These machines can be connected via Wi-Fi to a tablet in a loader or site office, allowing operators to remotely control the plant up to 100 metres from the machine. Programme reports show each batch and the percentage of each product blended.
