Hyundai R210LC-9 excavator

After researching all the options available, Dave Hanan from Delta Utilities says the Hyundai R210LC-9 excavator stood out from the competition for its features and service from Eagle Equipment

  • Some of the best features of this new model are the advanced technology features that the Hyundai offers
  • The new engines are also cleaner burning and environmentally friendly, making the Hyundai the perfect fit for any environmentally conscious company
  • The remote management system is standard and consists of a web-based satellite link from the machine back to base
  • The Dash 9 structure meets ISO standards while the cab has user friendly display consoles and climate controlled-air conditioning, a rear view camera and a comfortable seat

Dave Hanan, Delta Utilities Landfill engineer and organic supplies manager, says the reason the Hyundai R210LC-9 was purchased was due to the competitive pricing that Eagle Equipment offered, as well as the points of difference that Hyundai had over other brands he looked at.

Delta is a progressive asset management and contracting business providing a range of services to a variety of customers throughout the South Island of New Zealand. This includes providing contracting and asset management services for essential service assets such as electricity and telecommunications networks; water and wastewater systems; roading and civil works; landscaping and environmental services including related services such as construction, maintenance and design.

While there are several divisions with Delta Utility Services, including asset management, civil, electrical and other specialist services, the Hyundai R210LC-9 was purchased to work primarily within the Environmental Services area of expertise.

“A total waste solution can be offered to clients with a view to maximising recycling and minimising waste. The focus for the new Hyundai dash 9 machine is for the treatment of organic and woody wastes for beneficial reuse,” Hanan says.

The Hyundai R210LC-9 has been purchased to work in conjunction with the two New Zealand-built shredders that use revolutionary grinding and screening technology specifically designed to reduce waste to mulch. Its blades are designed to efficiently slice through material while absorbing less horsepower then other technologies with the blades being able to withstand most contaminants.

The use of the shredders and the Dash 9 is particularly valuable for farmers preparing for dairy conversions, as this often requires clearing forestry and tree removal for irrigation and better pasture management. It also assists with reducing the carbon footprint, as clients can clean up property and free up land without creating serious fire and safety hazards that come with the traditional methods like burning, which releases large amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

Although the Hyundai R210LC-9 has many benefits that will assist Hanan and his team at Delta Environmental Services, some of the best features of this new model are the advanced technology features that the Hyundai offers.

A cell phone integration system allowing for a mobile phone to be plugged into the audio system, giving hands-free operation is just one of the safety features incorporated into the Dash 9. The better fuel economy of the Dash 9 goes hand-in-hand with Delta’s sustainable approach to business, as does the extended maintenance intervals that mean more hours between oil and filters changes and less routine servicing. The new engines are also cleaner burning and environmentally friendly, making the Hyundai the perfect fit for any environmentally conscious company, which Delta certainly is.

Hanan is particularly impressed with the remote management service the Hyundai is providing.

“The GPS tracking and reporting is brilliant as it allows us to see where the machine is located on-site, tracks productivity and is a good indication of exactly what is being achieved.”

The remote management system is standard and consists of a web-based satellite link from the machine back to base. This allows for the monitoring of things such as fuel burn, productivity and allows for early detection of any incidents with the machines, such as over revving, from anywhere in the world.

The operators at Delta are excited about the R210LC-9 arrival as well, with Hanan saying “from an operators’ point of view the great visibility, good control, ergonomics and an extremely comfortable seat help make the Hyundai R210LC-9 the best spec’d machine in the market for the price”.

Safety also plays an important part in the purchasing decision-making process and the Dash 9 structure meets ISO standards while the cab has user friendly display consoles and climate controlled-air conditioning, a rear view camera and of course, the comfortable seat! Apparently the “cool” look of the excavator was an added bonus for many within Delta!

Dave Hanan is pleased with his decision to buy the Hyundai R210LC -9.

“Points of difference, drive decisions, price and features being the two strongest. Hyundai definitely came out on top.”
