It’s new, big, and great: that’s what Hayden Satherley of HES Earthmoving Ltd thinks about the new XR42 Xcentric Ripper
The machine was recently purchased by his company HES Earthmoving from Boss Attachments.
“We only had it since the beginning of September and it’s performing really well, especially as our operator gets more familiar with its capabilities, but after only a short while, it’s making quick work of jobs that our D8s couldn’t handle.”
HES Earthmoving Ltd is a successful contracting business based at Waipukurau in the Central Hawke’s Bay. During the past decade, the company’s work portfolio has included a diverse range of projects, including roading, farm infrastructure, bulk earthworks, and crushing and screening.
Recent landmark contracts have involved a number of major roading projects as well as the almost completed demolition of the Waipukurau District Hospital.
With a focus on the provision of services that meet client expectations, with minimal environmental impact, Hayden sees the new XR42 playing an important role in his company’s long-term operations.
“In the first instance, the XR42 has added another important string to our bow and it will allow us to look at better options across a range of projects, particularly those forest and rural roading jobs where difficult terrain or access make things more challenging.”
Like other New Zealand XR owners, Hayden is also impressed with the Xcentric Rippers’ performance and the increased safety it provides for operators when they are working in more challenging environments.
“As well as giving us better production, we also expect it to deliver savings across a number of areas, one of which will certainly be a reduction in blasting costs.”
Designed to increase production, at lower operating costs and reduced noise levels, the all-new XR Mining series is a revolution for high volume rock extraction and it’s fast becoming recognised as the world’s most productive, reliable, and technologically advanced hydraulic ripper, the manufacturer says.
“The XR Mining Series has totally re-defined what a ripper really needs to be,” says Paul Herbison of Boss Attachments.
While the working technology is based on the standard XR version, this new mining series range has been reinforced with a re-modelled working platform to deliver a much higher energy impact force to the work tool with a lower frequency
Featuring a patented system of ‘Impact Technology by accumulation of energy’, the Xcentric Ripper is, in most instances, up to five times more productive than hydraulic breakers, Paul says.
“These rippers deliver major benefits to clients, especially in regard to delivering significant costs reductions and increased production.”
Boss Attachments says they have always focused on equipment that delivers significant operating benefits for clients, and their global-leading range covers the demolition, construction, earthmoving, quarrying, roading, and forestry sections.
“Our brands have all been proven in the harshest conditions on Earth and are making a real difference for our New Zealand clients, especially now when reduced operating costs and better performance are so important,” says Paul.
