Benefitz boosts its installation capabilities with the IMER IR 15 DA spider lift — compact, powerful, and built for precision in tight spaces
Supplied by industry leader of access equipment Youngman Richardson, the decision to purchase the 15-metre working height IMER access unit came after Benefitz successfully trialled the machine during a complex 3D signage installation project.
In an industry where precision, access, and working height are critical, the task involved lifting and installing a large sign at approximately six metres high, accessed via a narrow, paved entranceway of just one metre in width.
With a minimum base width of 0.79 metres, the IMER IR 15 DA spider lift had no trouble navigating the tight entry, demonstrating its compact design and exceptional versatility.
Now deployed on a variety of installations, the flexibility of the spider lift is proving to be invaluable, keeping the Benefitz team at the top of their game when it comes to installing signage and event items at height.

Right: Once on site, setup is seamless
Nicknamed ‘Insy Winsy’, the versatile machine has its own trailer and eye-catching cover, also made by the Benefitz team. Once on site, setup is seamless. The automatic outrigger levelling function ensures fast, stable deployment on the surface without any need for manual adjustments – a key advantage for time-sensitive jobs.
“Signage installs often require two operators in the basket along with tools and the signage itself,” says Aidan Bennett, founder and managing director at Benefitz. “The 230kg basket capacity gives us the confidence to work safely and efficiently without compromise.”
The double-articulated, slewing boom and independently slewing basket prove invaluable during installation, allowing operators to manoeuvre precisely without needing to reposition the spider lift – a crucial advantage in confined spaces where mobility is limited, or across a wide installation where repositioning is no longer required.
Previously, Benefitz relied on a truck-mounted lifting solution, which presented access limitations on sloping or narrow terrain. The IMER IR 15 DA has transformed their approach to working at height, thanks to its tracked, narrow-profile chassis and state-of-the-art remote-control system, which allows safe and precise tracking and setup.

Some key benefits of the IMER IR 15 DA include:
- 360° slewing turret (non-continuous) for exceptional aerial accessibility
- Platform capacity of 230kg
- Remote control operation for safe, single-user maneuverability
- Oversized outrigger pads 350mm for enhanced stability (optional)
- Non-marking tracks, ideal for interior surfaces
- Double-articulated boom for flexible up-and-over access
- Compact weight of 2030kg, suitable for transport via tip trailer
- 15m working height and 7m up-and-over reach
- Petrol-powered Honda engine that is reliable, economical, and easy to maintain
- 230V / 2.2 kW electric motor
The unit’s simple familiarisation process means new operators can get up to speed quickly, while the ability to track through carparks, narrow passageways, and difficult terrain increases productivity across a wide variety of installation projects.
“We’ve already seen a significant boost in efficiency,” says Aiden. “Setup is faster, access is easier – even on sloping terrain – and we can take on more complex signage jobs with confidence.”
Made in Italy

IMER Access, based in Italy, makes the range of tracked and articulated spider lifts with tracks and outriggers which are very useful for tight spaces and narrow access requirements.
The units are available in multiple power sources such as an electric motor for indoor and outdoor use where there are advantages of low noise and low emissions or petrol and diesel options for more power outdoors. The portable remote control ensures manoeuvrability in tight spaces while providing added operator safety.
Also available in the Imer range is the IM R13 T, which is the most compact and lightweight model in the range, weighing just 1500kg. Despite its small footprint—measuring only 0.79 metres in width – it delivers an impressive maximum working height of 13.0 metres and a horizontal outreach of up to 6.8 metres. Its slim design and low weight make it ideal for precise work in tight or restricted spaces, while also allowing for easy transport and manoeuvrability on site.
The IM R19 SA EVO offers a maximum working height of 19.0 metres and a horizontal outreach of up to 9.3 metres, making it well-suited for more demanding applications that require extended reach and elevation. The EVO system enhances safety and productivity by automatically managing the levelling process. Available in diesel, petrol and lithium battery configurations, this model remains compact and efficient, with a maximum weight of up to 2465kg.
As the largest model in the range, the IM R23 DA is built for high-demand applications requiring maximum reach and performance. It delivers an impressive working height of 22.85 metres and a horizontal outreach of up to 12 metres, making it ideal for the most challenging tasks. Available in petrol, diesel and lithium battery variants, with a weight of up to 3000 kg, it offers the flexibility to choose the power source that best matches operational requirements.
