The Hevea Awards had 19 categories in 2019 that highlighted outstanding participants across the tyre industry. TM1000 ProgressiveTraction from Trelleborg Wheel Systems was named as the Best Agricultural Tyre with more than 38.2% of the votes, ahead of the second place tyre with 19.7%.

"The TM1000 ProgressiveTraction received the award from EuroPneus for its outstanding technology and in recognition of the performance it offers," says Ramon Martinez, country manager Spain and Portugal for Trelleborg Wheel Systems.

"In line with Trelleborg’s commitment to helping secure a sustainable future for farming, while boosting the efficiency and productivity of our customers’ farming operations, the ProgressiveTraction technology releases additional power to the ground and reduces stress on the soil, while improving a machine’s road travel performance."

The ProgressiveTraction tread design was conceived to tackle the requirements of the latest generation of machinery, increasing power transmission efficiency to the ground while reducing soil compaction. At the same time, the double-edge-lug tread design was developed to reduce vibration, lowering energy dissipation, minimising fuel consumption, as well as extending service life.

Testing revealed that the tyre has achieved up to 3% less fuel consumption and up to 5% longer tyre service life, the company says. New Zealand distributors TRS Tyre & Wheel, say they stock a wide range of Trelleborg and Mitas tyres and are able to provide complete customer solutions.
