Magnum secures Morooka distributorship in NZ
Auckland-based Magnum Equipment has formalised an agreement to distribute Morooka equipment in New Zealand
Morooka carriers are designed to a wide range of uses, including dump bodies, drill rigs, access platforms, and other specialist applications.
Established in 1958, the Japanese company is probably most well-known in New Zealand for their rubber track crawler dumpers, which they say combine the characteristics of a tyre equipped vehicle, such as speed and a smooth ride while providing the traction of a steel track.
Utilising the rubber-tracked undercarriage concept, Morooka also produces log forwarders, mobile wood shredders, screening plants, loaders, and forklifts, exporting to a number of countries around the globe. Magnum Equipment company director Liam Field says the new distributorship will sit alongside the Hidromek brand, which the company secured in 2017.
"Our infrastructure is ideally set up to handle the Morooka brand, and we’re confident our business can successfully help promote benefits of the equipment to machinery buyers," Liam says.
He adds that Magnum’s first Morooka machines will be the 1500DVR and 2200VDR model turntable dumpers, scheduled to arrive around late October 2018 and will be ready to be put into service shortly after.
"We will carry a full parts inventory and our in-house and mobile technical teams will be trained to carry out all aspects of maintenance and servicing," he says.
